Zanzibar · Est. local guides

Spice islands, open water, and the coast that made them famous.

Small-group tours across Stone Town, the reef, and the spice farms — run by a Zanzibar-based team who grew up on these roads and this water.

About Tanasa

Built by people who guide these routes themselves, not a booking desk that outsources them.

Tanasa Tours and Safaris is based in Zanzibar. Every itinerary here has been walked, sailed, or driven by someone on the team — from the alleys of Stone Town to the sandbanks off Nungwi and the plains beyond the channel. We keep groups small and routes flexible around tides, weather, and what you actually want to see.

From past guests

What people say after they've flown home.

“Our guide knew which sandbank would still be above water at 2pm. That's not something you get from a big tour operator.”
— Group of 4, Safari Blue & spice tour
“We asked to swap the Serengeti days shorter and the beach days longer with two days' notice. Done, no fuss.”
— Couple, 6-night island + mainland trip
“Stone Town on foot with someone who grew up there is a completely different tour than the printed map version.”
— Solo traveller, Stone Town walking tour
